Senior Vice President, Clinical Genomics

Dr. Fan Xia currently serves as Senior Vice President of Clinical Genomics at Baylor Genetics. In addition, Dr. Xia is an Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, TX and an investigator in the National Institutes of Health’s Undiagnosed Disease Network. 

Dr. Xia received his bachelor’s in biology from Peking University in Beijing, China. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, he attended graduate school and received his PhD in genetics from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, where he studied developmental biology. After receiving his PhD, Dr. Xia moved to Boston and did a research fellowship on cancer biology at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. In 2010, Dr. Xia joined BCM in Houston, TX where he had the opportunity to experience the early days of translating the next-generation sequencing technologies into clinical diagnostics. 

Outside of work, he enjoys long distance running and watching scientific documentaries.
